This is a classic dive diner in the heart of the mission. The owner is always there and he's really nice. They have a great combination of Latin and traditional American diner food. The restaurant is huge (so is the restroom), so it would lend itself well to groups. They are very busy for breakfast on weekends but outside of that, There's always plenty of room.

Gosh.... i'm not even sure how to rate this place..... where do i begin...
Mid day on a Sunday in SF and looking for some breakfast food was my mission in the Mission (HA)... decided to check this place out, and after reading some really good reviews, i thought it was a winner.
Coming in it looks like a typical breakfast diner, your immediately welcomed by the super friendly and upbeat staff, which i really loved.
After looking through the menu, i decided to try out the "Central American Breakfast" which included eggs, platanos (fried platains), gallo pinto (rice/beans), queso frito (fried cheese), bacon and toast. I requested, as i always do, my eggs scrambled soft! Because who the heck likes over cooked, dry eggs?!? I sure don't!! OK here comes my plate.... presentation- not so great, but i was expecting that.... my eggs- super under cooked and the whole egg was runny, sheeesh i said soft not raw! The gallo pinto tasted stale, like it was from the day or two before, the platanos were really good and the queso frito was as well. I never got my toast. I definitely wouldn't order this again. Also, ordered a stack of pancakes which were burnt, had three bites and didn't eat them.
OK .... so here is the part of my visit that was MOST disappointing. I go to use the restroom and it was Filthy, and i mean with a capital F!! They were out of toilette paper, toilette seat covers and hand towels. I walked out to let the waitress know that i need toilette paper because they were completely out, and she walks over to a table and hands me a small stack of table napkins! My eyes almost popped out of my eye sockets! Ummm OK thank you lady.
Yep, that's how my visit ended....
This place gets a few stars from me for their friendless and attentiveness (except the lady who handed me the napkins) and i liked their platanos & queso frito.
Maybe what i ordered wasn't the best on the menu, maybe they are not used to people requesting their eggs cooked soft, maybe the person in charge of clean up was out sick that day, who knows. I could come back and try something different that people have raved about on these reviews, but i think i'll pass on that idea.... -

I love this place. Only have been here once but find myself thinking about it from time to time. I'd like to go back soon. The staff is very friendly and the quality of food is so good! I was STUFFED leaving the restaurant. Hoping to get my girls together and go back soon!

Love this diner. Super close to 24 St/Mission and has lots of character. Most people eating there are Latinx.
Food is no-frills Mexican comfort food and incredibly affordable for the area. Where else can you get brunch for less than $10?
I got the Chilaquiles and loved them. The refried beans had a nice richness and depth to them. I like the sour green Chile sauce that complemented it. I ordered it spicy and it was actually quite hot! An excellent brunch dish for a hangover.
Service was great. Our waiter checked in on us frequently and had a good sense of humor. -

Mission kitchen is my favorite. The green chilaquiless with steak is my favorite it comes with rice and beans. My bf loves the steak sandwich with avocado and it comes with fries. One of the best chilaquiles in town trust me .and the employees are always so nice and been working there a long time.
